China Petrochemical Corp. (Sinopec Group) put its first underground gas storage (UGS) depot into operation in Henan Province's Puyang County on Thursday last week, the company announced on Wednesday.
The depot, Wen 96, has a designed storage capacity of 588 million cubic meters (MMcm) and a maximum withdrawal rate of 5 MMcm per day, according to the announcement. Sinopec Group invested RMB 806 million ($127.40 million) to build the facility.
