One of China’s giants, CNOOC has re-started production from the four BoZhong 28-2 South oilfields in Bohai Bay.
Operations had been suspended since April when rough sea conditions caused a malfunction on the single point mooring system of the FPSO Haiyangshiyou 102 serving the fields.
But the company devised a recovery plan which has worked out as planned. Production from the fields has recovered to the level prior to the incident, at around 39,000 b/d of oil.
The company has a 100% operating interest in the BZ 28-2 S, BZ 28-2 SN, BZ 34-1N, and BZ 29-4 fields.
