API: New hire in North Carolina to promote key benefits of natural gas, oil

RALEIGH -- The American Petroleum Institute is growing its North Carolina office to bolster its advocacy efforts on the importance of natural gas and oil, energy infrastructure projects, and how the energy revolution helps support the continued delivery of reliable and affordable energy to consumers across the state. API’s North Carolina Petroleum Council Executive Director David McGowan issued the following statement:

“I am excited to welcome John White as the new associate director of the North Carolina Petroleum Council, who will work to communicate the importance of energy to our great state and advocate for key natural gas and oil issues. John is an accomplished public policy professional who is highly regarded by North Carolina elected officials and business leaders across the political spectrum and at all levels of government. John understands the important role natural gas and oil play in fueling our state’s economy, while providing reliable and affordable energy, and also helping to lower our emissions in our communities.”

John White, associate director, API’s North Carolina Petroleum Council will enhance all aspects of API’s public policy work in North Carolina and Southeast Region. Prior to joining API, John served at the North Carolina Department of Commerce as a Legislative Director. Before that, John was V.P. of public policy at the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce, as well as a legislative assistant to Rep. Alma Adams (D), who is currently a member of the U.S. Congress.
