The China-based manufacturer Maoming Petrochemical provisionally suspended activity at its linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) facility late last month. The outage resulted from a number of technical glitches at the unit.
The plant was due to recommence operations on February 2, but its proprietor decided to postpone the restart date.
The facility is situated in Maoming. Its nameplate capacity is 200,000 tonnes per year.
The shutdown was extended on the back of enhancement of prices for feedstock ethylene.
