On July 8, the Fortune Magazine released the annual list of Global 500. CNOOC ranked 93, advancing from its last year's ranking of 101, with a revenue of $83.5 billion and a profit of $7.7 billion.
The No. 1 winner was Royal Dutch Shell which achieved a revenue of $481.7 billion and a profit of $26.6 billion. Sinopec Group ranked No. 4 and PetroChina No.5.
95 Chinese companies have made the list this year.
