BEIJING--China'sGeneral Administration of Customs confirmed Monday that January crude-oil imports totaled 25.15 million metric tons, equivalent to 5.95 million barrels a day, up 7.4% from a year earlier.
China's Iranian crude imports in January were down 36.9% on year. By comparison, China's full-year imports of Iranian crude in 2012 were down 21.0% on year.
Meanwhile, China didn't import a significant amount of gasoline in January.
Diesel imports rose 38.5% to 70,310 tons, while diesel exports surged 302.3% to 379,583 tons, the data showed.
Kerosene imports rose 15.5% to 492,734 tons, while fuel oil imports were up 47.1% at 2.8 million tons.
